Strategic location

The location of the new fulfilment centre at Calderara Di Reno in Bologna is no coincidence. With less than a 3-hour drive to 50% of the Italian population, it allows Widem Logistics to organise distribution quickly and efficiently with limited delivery times.

Moreover, the new facility is adjacent to Bologna airport, allowing maximum use of air freight for national and international shipments. This proximity strengthens Widem’s logistics capacity.

Sustainability and innovation

By using innovative technologies and sustainable materials, the building combines the needs of a modern fulfilment centre with the explicit demand for sustainable entrepreneurship. Some examples:

  • Solar panels make optimum use of the natural source of sunlight, making the building largely self-sufficient in its energy needs.
  • Heat pumps are used to ensure efficient heating and cooling of the building.
  • Rainwater is collected and used to supply water to the facility.

All off this not only reduces the ecological footprint of the building, but also contributes to lower long-term operational costs.
